On 11th July 2025, Mbale District celebrated the Day of the African Child (DAC) and the World Day Against Child Labour at Nyondo PTC Grounds, Nabumali Town Council under the national theme "Planning and Budgeting for Childcare and Protection in Uganda: Progress since 2010." The event, attended by government leaders, civil society, children, and community members, aimed to raise awareness on child rights, protection, and inclusive planning.

Highlights & MUWEI role

Speeches from local leaders and children representatives stressing collective responsibility to eliminate child labour and strengthen child protection systems.
MUWEI co-financed planning, mobilization, and facilitated children's games and activities.
District Chairperson Mr. Mafabi Muhamad urged parental engagement in children's education and wellbeing.

The event concluded with a wall of fame signing and cutting of a celebration cake symbolizing shared commitment to ending child labour, teenage pregnancy, and child marriage.
