Radio Talkshows on SGBV

In March 2025, MUWEI launched a powerful radio campaign across Big FM, Radio Maria, and Impact FM, reaching over 300,000 listeners in Eastern and Central Uganda. The broadcasts featured survivor testimonies, expert discussions, and live listener engagement, shattering the silence around sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in communities where such conversations are often taboo.

Approach & impact

• Led by MUWEI's Executive Director with representatives from Uganda Police's CFPU and local government leaders.
• Topics included child marriage, domestic abuse, and access to justice with live listener call-ins sharing personal stories.
• MUWEI aims to expand this survivor-centered media initiative across 10 districts to connect survivors to services and foster accountability.
